Downtown Store Grantham

Sales Assistant (Cookshop)

Every day our customers are inspired by a range of quality products and services offered at our Downtown Grantham store.  Our aim is to provide each customer with an exceptional service that complements our extensive product range and caters individually to their needs.

We are seeking a part-time Sales Assistant to assist customers with their purchases on our Cookshop department.

You will focus on assisting customers with purchases of different cookware and bakeware products, including saucepans, cutlery, kitchen appliances and utensils in a busy and varied environment, building rapport with customers, and delivering expert merchandising on items to maximise sales appeal.  You must have great people skills and good levels of self-motivation.  A degree of till work is also required with this role

You will be at an advantage if you have relevant retail experience. This is not essential, and training will be provided as required.

Hours are averaging 16.5 hours per week on a four-weekly rota usually worked on three days a week during store opening times, including weekend work in line with our busiest trading times. Flexibility is key and you should be occasionally available to work varying shift patterns and differing days if required.  

Our benefits package includes our generous performance-based commission, staff discount of up to 20% across all of our stores, subsidised food and drink and industry-leading rewards for long service.  And as our staff trust holds 15% of our Company’s shares, employees can also benefit from a share of the profits whenever dividends are paid to Shareholders.

Flooring Estimator

Our Flooring teams at our Downtown stores are pivotal to our business, providing each customer with an exceptional service to help them acquire their dream flooring.  We require a full-time staff member to provide this exceptional service and provide bespoke estimation services for flooring products in customers’ homes.

In this extremely varied and rewarding role, you will be working to measure floor fits in customers’ homes with varying rooms and specifications and preparing quotations in a timely and professional manner.  The role also entails the coordination of flooring orders arriving within the business and preparing them for our various fitting contractors to collect.

Although experience with flooring and / or estimation (ideally using MasterPiece software) is desirable, if you are efficient, accurate with measurement and have good communication skills, you will be successful in the role and we would encourage you to apply.

You must have a valid licence to drive in the UK and be confident in using basic Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel.  

Hours are 36.25 hours per week usually worked on five days a week during store opening times, including weekends on a rota.

Weekend Sales Adviser (Beds)

Do you want the opportunity to earn performance-based commission and maximise your earnings?  Every day our customers are inspired by a range of quality products and services offered at our Downtown Grantham store.  Our aim is to provide each customer with an exceptional service that complements our extensive product range and caters individually to each customer’s needs.  

To play a key role in helping us sell our fantastic products at our Downtown Grantham store, we are seeking an ambitious and driven Sales Adviser to work on our Beds and Bedroom Furniture sales team at weekends.

This varied and engaging role focusses on offering an excellent customer service in a busy environment, building rapport with customers, and delivering expert product recommendations on a range of beds and bedroom products to maximise sales opportunities.

You must have great people skills and be passionate about offering customers a superb experience.  Previous experience delivering sales in a similar environment would be beneficial, although full training will be provided. 

Hours are 12 per week usually worked during store opening times on Saturdays and Sundays.  A flexible approach to working days and times is required and you should be available to work a varying working pattern if required.

How old do I need to be?

You must be school leaving age or older to work for us.  In England, you can leave school on the last Friday in June if you’ll be 16 by the end of the summer holidays.

You can apply shortly before you finish school, but you won’t be able to start until after the last Friday in June.


By when should I apply?

We review applications as we receive them, and we interview as soon as we have applicants we think are a good match.  You should therefore apply at your earliest convenience to avoid missing out.


Can I apply for more than one vacancy?
