How old do I need to be?
You must be school leaving age or older to work for us. In England, you can leave school on the last Friday in June if you’ll be 16 by the end of the summer holidays.
You can apply shortly before you finish school, but you won’t be able to start until after the last Friday in June.
By when should I apply?
We review applications as we receive them, and we interview as soon as we have applicants we think are a good match. You should therefore apply at your earliest convenience to avoid missing out.
Can I apply for more than one vacancy?
Yes. If you are applying to become a Sales Assistant we would prefer you to apply for the vacancy you think most suits your skills and experience so that we do not try to assess you more than once for similar roles. For other roles we would encourage you to think very carefully about which role(s) you apply for and to look at the skills and experience detailed in the advert. If you feel you are right for the vacancy, try to ensure that where appropriate you tailor your application accordingly. This will help your application to stand out for the role in question.
Will you confirm receipt of my application?
Yes. We strive to acknowledge every application we receive. If you have applied by e-mail, you will receive an automatic reply acknowledging your application. If you have applied by post, we will either respond to the e-mail address you have provided or send you an acknowledgement by post. If you haven’t received an acknowledgement within two weeks of submitting your application, please let us know.
How long will I need to wait to hear if I have been selected for interview?
We strive to acknowledge every application we receive. This could be by e-mail or letter. If you haven’t received an acknowledgement within two weeks of submitting your application, please let us know.
You’ll be contacted again if you are shortlisted for interview, but if you do not hear from us again within four weeks of our initial acknowledgement then unfortunately your application has been unsuccessful. Please feel free to keep checking for new vacancies on our website, which are normally updated weekly.
Do you provide feedback after an interview?
Yes. If you have attended an interview you will be advised of the outcome by telephone, e-mail or letter. If you feel it would help you in the future to be given constructive feedback, please contact the person who arranged your interview.
