Downtown Store Grantham

After-Sales Service Assistant

To support the aim of making our customer experience fantastic, we are seeking an After-Sales Service Assistant to join our busy customer service team working three days a week.

Based at Downtown Grantham, you will be the first port of call for customers should issues with orders arise.  You will need to effectively assist our customers by arranging any necessary visits to their homes or conduct activities with suppliers to support through to matters being concluded.   You will regularly liaise with a range of suppliers and manufacturers to seek returns, collections or credits as needed and you should be a good communicator, as you will be speaking with a range of people both internal and external to the organisation. Due to the physicality of the role, you will be expected to carry out repairs and occasionally assist with deliveries. You must be resourceful, a good problem solver and be proficient at using Microsoft Office software to organise yourself.  You must also have a valid UK driving licence as visits to customers’ homes will be required. 

Hours are 6 per day worked over three days Monday to Friday.

Soft Furnishings Assistant

Every day our customers are inspired by a range of quality products and services offered at our Downtown Grantham store.  Our aim is to provide each customer with an exceptional service that complements our extensive product range and caters individually to their needs.

We are seeking a part-time Sales Assistant to assist customers with their purchases on our Soft Furnishings department.

You will focus on offering customers a plethora of ready-made and made to measure curtains, blinds, and lighting and decorative ideas in a busy and varied environment, building rapport with customers, and delivering expert product recommendations on fabric types and options to maximise sales opportunities.  You must have superb attention to detail and be skilled at conversing with a wide variety of people. 

You will be at an advantage if you have relevant retail experience or an interest in interior design.  This is not essential, and training will be provided as required.

Hours are 22.5 per week usually worked on three or four days a week during store opening times, including some weekend work in line with our busiest trading times. Flexibility is key and you should be occasionally available to work varying shift patterns and differing days if required.

Customer Experience Assistants

To support the aim of enhancing our customer experience and play a part in the day-to-day operation of our call centre, we are seeking Assistants to join our team on a part-time basis.

Responsibilities of this role include managing customer enquiries via various channels including telephone and e-mail.  You will be required to respond professionally and in a timely fashion, tailoring each conversation to the customer’s needs to deliver and maintain an excellent service. 

Successful candidates for this rewarding and varied role will be well organised, passionate about offering a superb service and confident at communicating with a wide range of people.  Although not essential, applicants would be at an advantage if they have previous experience assisting customers or working in a similar environment. 

Hours are either 13.5 or 12 per week usually worked on two or three shifts a week during store opening times.  A flexible approach to working days and times is desirable, and you should be available to work varying days and additional hours if required.

Loss Prevention Assistant

To maintain robust security across our Downtown Grantham site and minimise stock loss, we are seeking a Loss Prevention Assistant to join our existing close-knit and friendly Loss Prevention team.

Responsibilities for this extremely varied and rewarding role involve surveillance of the site to protect stock, buildings and Company property using CCTV systems and intercoms, maintaining the safety of the site and ensuring welfare of both our customers and staff.  You must be within 20 minutes’ drive of our Downtown Grantham store, with the ability to attend occasionally call out duties in a vehicle. 

You must be able to be diplomatic and have a high degree of tact during challenging situations.  You will be trustworthy and able to communicate effectively as part of a small, close-knit team.  Although not essential, you would be at an advantage if you have relevant experience or suitable qualifications (such as an SIA licence). 

Hours are 26.5 worked over three or four days a week, including two weekends in four and some nightly on-call duties on a fixed-rota.  Specific details of your working pattern are somewhat open to negotiation.

This role is a national minimum wage position, and the successful candidate will be required to undertake a reimbursable DBS check before starting work with us.

Toys / Uniform Sales Assistant

To play a key role in helping us sell our fantastic products at our Downtown Boston store, we are seeking a part-time Sales Assistant to join our Sales team working primarily on our Toys and Uniform departments.

This varied and engaging role will focus on offering an excellent customer service in a busy environment, building rapport with customers, and delivering expert product recommendations on a range of products to maximise sales opportunities.  Till work will also be undertaken as required.

You must have great people skills and be passionate about offering customers a superb experience.  Previous experience working within retail or in a similar sales role would be beneficial, although full training will be provided. 

Hours are 18 per week usually worked during store opening times on three days out of seven including weekends during our busiest trading times.  A flexible approach to working days and times is required and you should be available to work varying days and additional hours if required.

How old do I need to be?

You must be school leaving age or older to work for us.  In England, you can leave school on the last Friday in June if you’ll be 16 by the end of the summer holidays.

You can apply shortly before you finish school, but you won’t be able to start until after the last Friday in June.


By when should I apply?

We review applications as we receive them, and we interview as soon as we have applicants we think are a good match.  You should therefore apply at your earliest convenience to avoid missing out.
